Summer '09

This is summer has been a crazy one so far. From getting ready to go to college to working in several places. One summer job that I am really thankful that I got was working at my school as a tutor as a Spanish teacher. Spanish is my first language but I have lived here so long that I get all tongue twisted. However, Dudley Johnson told me that I all they are going to do is use the a program called Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish. The first days I saw that the kids were really bored and didn't want to be there. I knew that learning Spanish isn't just about listening, so the next day I came with a couple games that I knew that could help them with their Spanish. Now, every so often I bring in a movie and we watch it Spanish but with English subtitles. Ann Hooper, a tenth grader, was telling me how much she liked playing that games that we should do them more often. I then talk to Alexander Sliverman and heard what he thought about what he thought. He thought that it is very boring but that he enjoys the games because it gets him to do something other than being on the computer.
